The Origin Story

It started with
a raffle.

Most racing careers begin with a family chequebook. This one began with a raffle.

At nine years old, Aashay wanted a kart his family hadn't planned for. He didn't ask for it — he organised. He built a raffle, sent it to family and friends, and raised R16,000 in three weeks.

He bought his own secondhand gear. Faced with that determination, his family invested in a used kart. First MSA licence at nine. First club race at Celso Scribante, Port Elizabeth.

"Before he was a racing driver, he was an operator."

Mamba Mentality

His inspiration is Kobe Bryant's Mamba Mentality — obsession with improvement, work ethic, leading by example.

Off track: warm, humble, quick to make a room laugh, deeply coachable.

Win the right way — clean, honest, earned.
